Shotgun

Shotgun is certainly one of the most intriguing Draw Poker variants. It begins as a regular 5-Card Draw game, with each of the players getting 5 cards, followed by a betting round.

Then there’s a draw, but things get complicated from here onwards.

The draw is not followed by the final betting round and showdown, instead, players still in the game, have to arrange their cards in a chosen order. They lay the cards out in front of them face down, and they can no longer rearrange them during the upcoming action.

If you play this game, make sure you won’t regret the way you first set up your "rollout”, as you won’t be able to touch it afterwards.

The top card of each player is then turned face up, and another round of betting commences. After that, another card is reveled, followed once again, by betting. This sequence is repeated until there’s only one card unrevealed in front of each player. That’s when the last betting round occurs, and the showdown.

The game can be played either Hi or Low, or with a High-Low split.
